I believe the citizens of this district deserve a strong voice in Jefferson City who will look out for their interests and who understands that this office is about SERVING the citizens of the district.
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, retired teacher, and real estate agent. I grew up in Festus and have deep roots in Jefferson County. Both of my grandfathers worked at PPG in Crystal City, and the Peebles Vaughn-Wideman American Legion Post 253 in Festus is named after my great uncle. I graduated from Festus High School and earned my B.A with teacher certification from College of the Ozarks.
After 25 years of teaching, I retired from Festus High School, and I am currently a Realtor® with ReMax Best Choice in Festus. I have experience and knowledge with our state legislature.
This past session I sponsored and passed legislation that will help grow our economy and bring jobs into our state, protect and save lives, and worked to make sure our schools receive the money needed by fully funding the foundation formula. As Chair of the Transportation Committee I have been working to address the issues of transportation and infrustructure facing our state including multi-modal transportation.
In 2009 I served as the State President of the Missouri State Teachers Association.
I am a member of Victory Church located in Pevely, MO. I am a member of the Jefferson County Board of Realtors, serve on the Jefferson County Parents as Teachers Advisory Committee, and serve on the Capital Campaign Board for A Safe Place-Domestic Violence and Abuse Shelter.
I live in Festus with my husband, Don, and together we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

I am the first woman serve as the Chair of the Transportation Committee, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation Oversight, and serve on the Rules Committee Administrative Oversight, Pensions Committee, and Health and Mental Health
I am the President of our Junior Class in the Missouri House of Representatives
I have received the Chamber Champion Award from the St. Louis Regional Chamber,the Leadership Award from the Missouri Sheriff's Association, the State Friend of Education Award from the Missouri State Teachers Association and the Friend of Agriculture Award from the Missouri Farm Bureau. In 2017 I received a National Award from the Every Life Foundation and the Rare Disease Legislative Advocates for my work on newborn screening which has put Missouri in the top not only nationally but globally in screenings to save the lives of children. In 2016 I was honored to be awarded the State Legislative Award from the YMCA for my work on behalf of youth and community.
